Wish I Could Tell You by Durjoy Datta | Book Review

This book has certainly made me speechless in a way that I never thought it would. It is not just love story, it’s a journey of knowing your other half and at the end you may find your true self. It is indeed one of the best work of Durjoy Datta.

Genre : Romance
Type: Standalone
Age limit : 16+
Rating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐

My Thought:

Can you find yourself after you have lost that special someone?

Anusha is a straightforward girl who approach world in a practical way. She can come as mean but her nature is moulded by past betrayal that left her heartbroken. The budding writer Anusha comes across wedonate.com an organization that helps needy people. As a normal self-centred girl, she struggled in her new job. But she finally got intrigued by a case of a boy named Gautam who is in coma. She finds her own personality in Gautam. But Gautam is a famous internet troller who is hated by whole social media people. Gautam’s campaign is failing because people want him dead instead of alive. But Anusha has other things in her mind because she has decided no matter what she will save this young boy who reminds her of herself.

On other hand there is Ananth who is saint by nature. He always tries to help people in need. So when opportunity arrived at wedonate organization, he is happy to help. Ananth became overnight social media star when his girlfriend Mohini shares love confession video on youtube. Organization wants to use his popularity to gain more donors.

Two different people apart by nature but connected by an organization working for same goal. Their stories got overlapped with each other in an unexpected way. In the world of social media and helping needy one, will they survive their love?

I didn’t have any expectation with this book. I have read some of Durjoy’s book before and they felt like cliché bollywood romantic movies. He is a good writer but his stories never appeal me. But this book has passed with flying colours.

One of the most important part of this book was structure. I really liked how he merged two different stories. The main characters are polar opposite and their character growth is outstanding. Apart from main leads book has chapters from other supporting characters which initially felt boring. But as it progress I realize their necessities to the story. There are so many twist and turns which hooked readers till the end.

At start, you may find book little dull and confusing but after chapter ten it progress rapidly. So you should grab this book for your next read. Because I promise you, it’s worth it.
