Review:

This powerful debut novel of Karen M. McManus has shook me up. If I'm being honest, I'm sucker for high school based stories. This was perfect mix of high school drama with twist of murder mystery.

Story starts at Bayview High, when five students from different background enter detention class but unfortunately one did not survive. When secrets behind door starts to emerge, initially seemed accident turn into murder. But who has strong enough motives to kill the fellow classmate? Was it high school popular jock Cooper, Yale aspirant Bronwyn, high school prom queen miss perfect Addy or a criminal Nate?

This is a strong page turner story. You don't stop reading it until you are at last page. All the suspects have interesting background. I personally like the character growth of all people. Story get interesting page by page. It never loose it's grip from main plot that who kill Simon? And you obviously fail to guess the killer!

Four students. Four secret. But who is lying?

This story has beautifully wooven the current scenario of teenage generation face with smartly executed murder. If you had liked The Hazel Wood or All These Beautiful Strangers, then you will love One Of Us Is Lying.

Rating: 5/5
